Job Description

The Program Manager position is an exciting opportunity based in Plano, TX that encompasses Program Management and leadership with knowledge of Systems Development, Engineering, and Integration. The successful candidate is responsible for the coordination, management, and delivery of Kratos Antenna Solutions’ various Satellite Communications Ground Station programs, projects, and services. The Program Manager is required to coordinate with Customers, and with Design and Operations staff with respect to managing, scheduling, assignments, logistics, and budgeting to ensure the successful facilitation of KAS programs.  This position reports to the Director, PMO and is located in Plano, TX.

JOB DUTIES

  • Organize and manage KAS programs, through all stages of planning and execution
  • Interpret Project Scope of Work and Table(s) of Compliance into work tasks, resource assignments, and budgetary impact.
  • Identify program risks and develop and refine potential solutions.
  • Collaborate with functional/resource management (matrix organization) to allocate staff resources and identity resource requirements through technical analyses and assessments.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to program budgets
  • Manage project technical and business baseline program communications.
  • Maintain and communicate detailed and accurate program records.
  • Manage development, production, and distribution of program specific materials.
  • Prepare and facilitate regular meetings with assigned Customers and internal project teams.
  • Maintain positive and professional communication with Customers and KAS staff.
  • Report on project financial performance and schedule performance to senior management monthly.
  • Review and assess feedback on all programs for continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing sub-contractors and vendors.

 

 

Experience and Skills

DESIRED SKILLS

 

 

  • Experience with government and military related projects and programs
  • Eligible to achieve US Government Security Clearance
  • Experience and expertise with complex, multidiscipline field Installation projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP (or an equivalent MRP system), and Visio
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • PMP Designation
  • Strong team player
  • U.S. Citizenship required 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years’ experience in Project/Program Management or Technical Leadership roles required
  • Commercial & Government Satellite Communications experience preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in classified environments.
  • Working knowledge of space systems, including ground systems, satellite command and control, RF systems, and system development processes.
  • Project Management Certification PMP

  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must follow standard safety precautions using personal protective equipment
  • Travel as necessary - 20% Domestic & International
