Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Performs various financial analyses that lead to profit improvement. Responsible for development and analysis of standard costing, manufacturing variances and manufacturing expenses and for accuracy of inventory and fixed assets.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assure that revenue recognition is accurate and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Follow all Company Policies and Procedures, State/Federal Laws and Regulations, and GAAP in the performance of duties, reporting any noncompliance

  • Analyze key performance measures in order to establish and monitor overall company performance

  • Coordinate with management monthly to ensure accurate profit margins for inventory job cost and revenue calculations

  • Conduct studies and perform analysis of program profitability that is not supplied by the general accounting system

  • Assist in the month end and year end book closing processes and procedures

  • Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD

                                                                                        

    Other Job Functions

  • Evaluate contracts for proper revenue recognition method and prepare ASC 606 questionnaires

  • Maintain monthly job costing schedule to include current revenue, costs and profitability to ensure matching of revenue and costs on monthly financial for FFP contracts

  • Prepare estimate at completion worksheets (EAC’s), job status reports and

  • Prepare external and internal audit documentation, coordinate audits with auditors, and provide auditor assistance and interpretation

  • Write, maintain and improve procedures as necessary to facilitate the highest efficiency possible in all areas of the Company

  • Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience, or HS Diploma and a minimum of 7 years of applicable experience

Advanced experience in the use of a wide variety of computer applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management systems, and related enterprise systems

Experience working with government contractors and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is strongly preferred

Previous experience using MRP programs, especially Deltek CostPoint

 

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)
