Job Description


To ensure programs meet the customer schedule and budgeted profit.


  • Performs final job review and resolves ongoing technical contractual job requirements (schedule, technical requirements, and budget.)
  • Responsible for program budget, schedule, monitoring, and completion of goals and milestones in accordance with approved plans.
  • Establishes Program organization and structure and priorities (resource management, scheduling, staff)
  • Maintains on-going communication with customer to accomplish program goals. 
  • Reviews and approves waivers, deviations prior to submittal to customer.
  • Reviews PDR/CDR presentations.
  • Creates sub-contract work breakdown structure.
  • Creates master milestone schedule.
  • Communicates program status to rest of organization.

Experience and Skills



  • Work consists of complex activities requiring the development of new concepts, approaches, and techniques to solve program problems based on analysis and evaluation.
  • Planning may affect multi-unit/departmental staff.  Involves considerable innovation
  • In-depth fact-finding and analysis are required as information is not easily available.
  • Requires frequent organization of Gichner resources and activities in large-scale projects where frequent setting and modifying of priorities is required.
  • Contact within the organization requires the exercise of authority, judgment, and motivating others to accept guidance and direction where their interests are divergent.
  • Overall work is reviewed infrequently to determine the status of objectives, projects, or general performance.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules




  • BA/BS in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of related experience in Program Management in a manufacturing environment, defense experience is a plus.






  • Office environment
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)
  • Ability to lift  up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
