Job Description

CTT, a Kratos' company, is looking for a Senior Engineering Technician for their San Jose office. This position will be onsite.

Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment.

• Performs inspections, checks testing and sampling procedures for product manufacturing processes.
• Performs quality control mechanical inspections on incoming material from suppliers, solder workmanship on upper assemblies, and final inspection of finished product.
• Records inspection results and maintains inspection logs.
• Inspects materials, parts, and products at different stages of production.
• Records, observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.
• Monitors critical equipment and instrumentation.
• May draft procedures and assist with validating or troubleshooting testing methods, including assays.
• May apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated.
• Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
• Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
• Other job duties as assigned.


Experience and Skills

• Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties.
• Must be proficient with Microwave and RF test equipment.
• A strong knowledge of microwave equipment, such as Scalar and network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure meters, and digital scopes is required.
• Familiarity with microwave thin film circuit and experience with chip-and-wire hybrid tuning is a plus.
• Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements.
• Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.
• Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including, for example training, reviewing and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment and changes, and more.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job.

High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of 3-4 years of related experience.

• Shop floor environment / workbench or workstation.
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrist, using hand tools).
