Kratos Space & Missile Defense Systems, Inc. is a leading provider of launch vehicle services for the US Military and Foreign Allies. Kratos performs all necessary engineering, manufacturing, testing, and field operations from the initial phone call for a new mission through flight and post-flight assessments. These launches occur with our Kratos team all over the world using our agile engineering approach that has led to a 100% successful launch record. The average time from receipt of mission requirement to flight is 6-9 months, and each mission is unique. Many of these missions have a very significant amount of complexity and development, and all missions are executed with small focused agile teams backed by an organization filled with aspiring and current launch vehicle experts.
Kratos is seeking a project engineer to be a leader within a mission team of engineering and technical specialists at various stages of mission execution. The engineering candidate will perform and become proficient over time in some or all of the following: requirements definition, mission concept of operations, mission planning, launch vehicle architecture design, system analysis and test planning, design formulation, technical management of major technology development, analysis and test execution, risk and opportunity management, mission compliance planning and assessments, range safety, launch operations, and technical project cost estimates. The candidate is expected to work with multidisciplinary geographically dispersed teams, complete with flight performance, mechanical, electrical, GNC, systems, propulsion, and other engineering and technician functional organizations.
