Job Description

In preparation for a successful SMDC contract Task Order bid and win, Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services is looking to identify highly qualified and capable candidates for the anticipated Task Order Manager position as per the upcoming SMDC NCR-IADS Task Order. Candidates with incumbent experience are highly encouraged to apply against the contingent position.

The selected candidate will manage all contractor personnel and associated projects related to 263rd Army Air & Missile Defense Command’s (AAMDC) annual support requirements and exercises. The position requires a strong background in planning and executing military exercise planning and Army and Joint Air Defense capabilities, to include senior level military coordination across COCOMs. The candidate requires a strong understanding of Operations planning procedures and the Army’s Force Generation model. The candidate is required to support the planning and execution of training events and the certification process for Army National Guard (ARNG) deploying forces. The successful candidate will apply requisite knowledge in short range and strategic planning in the areas of finance, scheduling, technology, methods, tools and solutions. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing, planning, monitoring, and performing analysis on various projects and exercises. They will also assist in developing mission and vision statements, goals, operational plans and measurable training objectives. Direct past experience with the NCR-IADS Mission, the Joint Air Defense Operations Center (JADOC) and/or Joint Air Defense OperationsMobile (JADOC-M) is highly desired.

Experience and Skills


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Candidate should have fifteen (15) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive and relevant experience managing Army and Joint programs or large scale DoD events, to include planning, integrating and operating government and commercial software applications for testing, training, experimentation and/or  demonstration purposes.
  • Must be willing to create event reports and provide briefings to peers, superiors and external agencies as required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office applications.


  • Understanding of Army Air and Missile Defense system operations and their respective Capabilities and Limitations (e.g. Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD), Sentinel Radar, and Avenger Weapons Systems) and each system’s unique integration requirements to assist with event planning and execution.
  • Background in Science & Technology (S&T), while not required, will be highly valued for this position.
  • Experience planning, designing, implementing and managing tactical interfaces, and associated interfaces/protocols, to include JREAP-C, between tactical systems and commercial software applications is desired.
  • Prior experience working with DoD Modeling & Simulation (M&S) applications is a plus.
