Job Description

Kratos is looking for a Network Engineer. The location is remote within the United States.

Operates and maintains the company's internal data communications systems. This role will focus 50% on firewalls/security, 25% on route/switch and 25% on automation.

• Knowledge and experience with IT security concepts and architecture.
• Supports/troubleshoots a variety of issues and may coordinates with vendors for installation of items such as firewalls, routers and switches.
• Is proficient at installing and maintaining firewalls, routers and switches.
• Working knowledge of ipsec tunnels.
• VPN experience with various vpn client installations.
• Works on project implementation (either in lead or supporting role).
• May conduct vendor comparisons.
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Networks with senior internal and external personnel in their own area of expertise.
• Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
• A current industry certification with emphasis on security and/or route/switch (CCSA/CCSP, CCNA/CCNP).
• May require some evening and/or weekend hours.
• Other job duties as assigned.

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

• Has a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including, for example training, reviewing and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment and changes, and more.

• Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job.
• May need to work outside regular hours, for example on call support or escalation.
• Has experience with document writing.
• Has experience with ensuring compliance (CMMC, SOX).
• Working knowledge of Cisco ASA, Firepower Threat Defense and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Working knowledge of computer security and general networking.
• Attention to detail.
• Good time management skills.
• Proficient with Wireshark, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, IPAM, CatTools.
• Help desk or ticketing system experience would be a plus.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job.

Requires industry certification and a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or industry certification with a minimum of 10 years of equivalent work experience.

• Office and open cubical environment and/or remote location environment
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones).
