GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Leads multidisciplinary mechanical design teams in the mechanical engineering analyses, design, drafting, development, testing and support of hardware training system. Efforts include all related mechanical engineering requirements including but not limited to structural, material, thermal, and fabrication methods in support of program objectives and requirements. Works collaboratively with Project Engineers, Manufacturing, Logistics, Electrical, Quality, Test and other technical disciplines as part of a combined integrated product team. Estimates workload requirements for assigned effort. Conducts make-buy analyses and cost-benefit trade-off studies pertaining to requirements and budget constraints. Oversees efforts of lower level engineering and design drafter personnel assigned to the IPT. Provides status input and tracking of assigned tasks. Interfaces with senior customers and corporate personnel. Candidate will be responsible for leading and developing new mechanical design for training devices and modifying existing designs to improve performance.
