We have a great opportunity for an Assistant Controller in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. This will be a hybrid location position working both on-site and remote. 

Responsibilities include:

• Financial reporting at both senior management and Corporate Accounting levels to include guidance and industry best practices
• Review of general ledger activities to include: Balance sheet reconciliations, monthly adjusting journal entries, intercompany transactions, commission process and accruals, bank reconciliations and involvement in parent company reporting package preparation and use of Corporate consolidation tool
• Other accounting management duties to include: Coordinating month-end and year-end reporting, Interface with Group and Corporate Controllers and group accounting staff, ensure compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley controls, understanding of governmental and tax laws that impact the company, lease accounting, participate in testing and upgrades for Costpoint accounting software, monitoring of compliance with existing accounting related policies and procedures, regular interface with both external and internal audit functions
• Supervision and guidance of general ledger accounting team Research and compliance with GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
• Report development within Cognos Query Studio, Microsoft BI, Longview
• Special projects related to integration and reporting of financial statements to parent company Kratos Corporation and other stakeholders
• Preparation of annual incurred cost submission and provisional indirect rate submissions to DCAA
• Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end analysis of financial statements

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field highly preferred, may consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 5 or more years of job related experience
  • Must be detail oriented and organized and have excellent communication skills with a wide variety of individuals and company management in person, via telephone and in writing
  • Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Must be able to work well independently and effectively as part of a team
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills, to include an advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Must have the ability to work with minimum supervision and to be able to resolve practical problems independently
  • Position may involve flexible hours to accommodate short notice requirements
  • Travel up to 10%
  • U.S Citizenship 

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Accounting or Finance 
  • 10+ years of related work experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) 
  • Knowledge of Costpoint accounting system 

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range $104k-$138k per year
