Job Description


 Manages the project technical efforts and resources on the GBSD program under the guidance of Engineering Management.  Develops, defines, and executes project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.  Identifies needed resources for projects, defines and assigns major project roles. Monitors the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or employees on technical matters, as needed.  Assigns and monitors work of Engineering Project Team staff, providing technical support and direction. 


  • Establishes and monitors project technical, schedule, budget, and performance requirements. 
  • Develops and maintains project technical procedures.
  • Improves effectiveness in quality, productivity, and innovation of product design.
  • Directs the efforts of the project design team. 
  • Helps resolve project engineering questions.  
  • Interfaces with other departments to resolve inter-departmental, job-specific issues of the matrix-based design team.
  • Supports the Program Management and Sales department in proposal development and engineering estimates on the program
  • Attends program meetings and participates in design reviews with customers.
  • Responsible for all other program areas identified as either Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineer job functions.
  • Maintains on-going communication with customer technical points of contact to accomplish program goals. 
  • Supports and provides input for risk mitigation strategies


 This position manages the GBSD Lead IPT Design Engineers and System Engineers.

Required: 4-year college/university education (engineering or other technical degree), or equivalent experience.

Required:   Must have 10+ years related experience, including Project Management, Project Engineering, Systems Engineering and/or Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineering


Transportation Design or Manufacturing experience

DOD experience Manufacturing experience

Secret Clearance (or eligible)

Required:   Communication, planning, project management, leadership


Office environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)

Ability to lift  up to 10 pounds
