Job Description

Kratos Defense and Rocket Support Services is seeking a Subject Matter Expert to support Advanced Fires Capabilities in Fort Bliss, TX.

 

Working directly with the Task Order Manager and Government Customer, this position serves as the technical expert for advanced FIRES initiatives and supporting technologies. Must possess the specialized knowledge and skills to enable current and future Fires-based technologies as they relate to Army, Joint and Multi-Domain Operations. The position will be responsible for preparing event documentation and synchronizing event requirements across multiple organizations. Working closely with the Advanced Fires Integration Test Bed Technical Lead, this position will be responsible for developing support timelines, forecasting equipment and personnel resources, and Customer Objectives. Provides direct input to the designated Event Lead and the Task Order Manager as a Kratos Defense employee supporting the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) Design, Development, Demonstration and Integration (D3I) Domain 1 Task Order. Provides input to analysis activities for current and emerging technologies assisting with the development of Measures of Performance (MOP) and Measures of Effectiveness (MOE) as required. Receives input from team members and other activities within the program, to include Government Customers and External Government Organizations, ensuring adequate timelines are developed to support the integration of requisite system components and operational products for each Advanced Fires Support event. Supports development, prototyping and demonstration at various site locations and provides briefings on the status of particular events or portions of the overall program as requested by the Program, Task or Project Manager. Travel is expected to be a part of this position and may include tactical field site locations and OCONUS Locations. Extensive knowledge of Air and Missile Defense & Field Artillery Systems and Military applications of Space and Missile defense systems, to include a deep understanding of Multi-Domain Operations, Army FIRES Operations and Maneuver Operations, is required.

Experience and Skills

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive and relevant experience managing Army and Joint programs or large scale events, to include those events that support integrating and operating government and commercial software applications for operational, testing, experimentation and/or demonstration purposes to involving analyzing systems and technologies related to one or more of the Task Order’s Task Requirements relating to Advanced FIRES and Air & Missile Defense Concepts.
  • Must demonstrate a deep understanding of MS Office products for planning, configuration documentation, briefings and reporting.
  • Create event reports and provide briefings to peers, superiors and external agencies as required.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At a minimum candidate should have ten (10) or more years of general experience including at least five (5) years of specialist experience in the required area of expertise.
  • Active Security Clearance

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of Air and Missile Defense and/or Field Artillery tactical system operations (e.g. Air and Missile Defense Workstation (AMDWS), Air Defense System Integrator (ADSI), Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Tactical Airspace Integration System (TAIS), Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD)) and each system’s unique integration requirements to assist with event planning. A background in Science & Technology (S&T), while not required, will be highly valued for this position. Experience planning, designing, implementing and managing Link-16 networks, and associated interfaces/protocols, to include RF and JREAP protocols, between tactical systems and commercial software applications is desired.
  • Past experience working with DoD Modeling & Simulation (M&S) applications, notably FIRES M&S applications, is a plus. Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD)) and each system’s unique integration requirements to assist with event planning.
  • A background in Science & Technology (S&T), while not required, will be highly valued for this position.
  • Experience planning, designing, implementing and managing Link-16 networks, and associated interfaces/protocols, to include RF and JREAP protocols, between tactical systems and commercial software applications is desired.
