Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Manage sales effort to achieve desired revenue goals through interaction with commercial, governmental, and military personnel. Assists the Sales managers, Field Service managers and others in planning and organizing sales proposals and other various activities. Responsible for tracking proposal due dates, progress of proposal preparation, requirements of proposals, etc. as well as maintaining company profile and other various standard documentation. Also works with the Sales and Engineering departments to insure that bid proposals, marketing materials, and project submittals meet the customer's requirements.

Experience and Skills

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in development of forecasting and sales follow-up to customers.
  • Develop new customers through sales calls and visits. Maintaining existing customers.
  • Travels as required to sales related events, shows and displays.
  • Maintains files of current proposal job plans and specifications.
  • Reports proposal progress to superiors and subordinates on a regular basis.
  • Maintains calendar and schedules of all proposals due.
  • Represents the company at public events.
  • Educates customers on new and existing application of products.
  • Stays current on information dealing with product and services, as well as sales procedures.
  • Provides input for sales forecasting, customer feedback, and product/market development.
  • Assists the sales team with the day to day commercial sales functions, to include customer service, development of sales materials, and development of sales plans.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Turbine PT6 and PW100 products
  • Review customer inquiries and coordinate information (with Engineering, Quality, Contracts,) necessary for discussion and review with Management.
  • Prepare and coordinate formal quotations and proposals in response to customer RFPs
  • Manage and support Field Sales Representatives
  • Ability to clearly communicate with others, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by customer or government standards
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited stands exist.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • US Citizen
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience in sales supporting customers

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The employee will likely be placed in an office.  The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation.  Able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer via standard input devices such as using a keyboard and reading information on a monitor.
