Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Develop and administer security programs and procedures for classified or sensitive materials, documents and equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in the preparation of manuals establishing procedures for handling, storing, keeping records, and for granting access to restricted areas, records and materials.
  • Responsible for the preparation and enforcement of written policies and procedures for handling, storing, record keeping of classified documents and materials, and for granting access to restricted areas, records and materials.
  • Process new employee security clearances, track security clearance investigations and perform administrative support functions associated with clearances and Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) administration. 
  • Perform as account manager for Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS)/Defense Information Security Systems (DISS)/Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT)/National Industrial Security System (NISS). 
  • Design and present continuing security education classes for the programs. 
  • Assist in the investigations of security incidents and prepare reports specifying preventive actions. 
  • Participate in security compliance audits and vulnerability assessments. 
  • Will be required to communicate succinct observations and recommendations to the site leadership that promote the safety and security of company personnel, the facility's assets, and interests. 
  • Must be a self-driven and results oriented individual capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently across a diverse program landscape with minimal oversight. 
  • Possess the ability to handle multiple priorities under deadlines as required. 
  • Possess the ability to assist in security plan process improvements and implementation of security requirements across the site. 
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to work with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Effective teaming and virtual teaming skills are also required.
  • Strong organizational skills and have a strong working knowledge of physical and personnel security requirements. 
  • Have the ability to support off-hour operations requirements as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  

 This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

 

Experience and Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:  

Required:

  • Four (4) plus years’ experience in security programs as FSO or in a related field.
  • Familiarity with NISPOM, Physical Security and International Operations.
  • Familiarity with Information Security Management and ability to support, and backup ISSO (Information System Security Officer) & ISSM (Information System Security Manager)
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering training and building and testing various security plans.
  • COMSEC (Communication Security) experience a plus.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: BA/BS in business discipline and/or JD.

 

 

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office environment.

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).

Ability to lift  up to 10 pounds.

Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
