The Project Finanace Manager is responsible for all aspects of project/contract accounting for all Kratos UAS contracts. Duties include ensuring project accounting is in accordance with GAAP on a monthly basis here at KUAS.

Supervise the billing function and the work of program financial analysts in developing, maintaining and tracking budgets and forecasts

Act as the primary liaison between project management and accounting for all accounting and finance related matters including project management training regarding accounting policies and procedures

Conduct project management meetings and monthly Contract Status Reviews, P&L and budget reviews.

Audit project profit and loss statements monthly to ensure revenues and expenses are being accurately tracked for contracts.

Perform revenue accruals including percentage completion revenue calculations on a monthly basis.

Work with general ledger accountants and accounts payable to ensure completeness of expense recognition on a monthly basis.

Work with accounts payable and time and expense to reclassify expenses to proper projects where needed.

Provide training to project management staff/accounting staff on all finance and accounting related policies and procedures.

Ensure billings are prepared in a timely manner and are 100% accurate.

Maintain all project-related information in the CINCOM System.

Responsible for project setup and final audit/close out in CINCOM.

Identify budget/pricing model issues based on actual results.

Conduct monthly P&L/Budget reviews with senior management and project management.

Work with project management to prepare expenditure and commitment forecasts for use in organization-wide cash management planning.

Conduct budget to actual revenue and expense analysis on a monthly basis.

Identify cost control issues where applicable and monitor trends in revenue and expenses.

Provide input to finance staff when analyzing margins on multiple markets or similar work.

Work with others in accounting to provide reporting of key performance metrics on a weekly basis.

Provide timely, accurate and complete information on project revenues and expenses on a monthly basis.

Provide financial information as needed to project managers, finance staff and others for weekly project performance reports.

Responsible for hiring, training, and coaching to lower level project accounting staff.

Participate in training of new project managers.

Assist project management in developing a project requirement checklist.

Obtain a clear understanding of the scope of work agreed to and contract details to ensure billing is complete as well as to identify issues surrounding performance and/or scope of work.

Communication of contract terms to the rest of the accounting department for proper invoice coding, T&E coding, per-diems levels, etc.

Establish a relationship with client finance staff to ensure invoice formats are approved and to establish communication channels to help with collection efforts.
