Job Description

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services is currently seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to work as part of a team to support NSWCDD AEGIS Australia/Hobart Modernization FMS.  The successful candidate will provide radar system engineering consultation in the area of risk management and generate radar-specific program risks; Deliverables: Deliver emails, memos, and reports, as required. Support customer efforts to prepare for Australia/AWD/A2D Hobart Modernization SFR and other SETR events by developing artifacts required for each review.  Review specifications (Radar and weapon system) and make recommendations for improvements and/or corrections; Support detailed design reviews of Radar Computer Program pertaining to the Australia/AWD/A2D Hobart Modernization including SFR, PDR, CDR, ETRs, etc; and Complete Annual FMS Training as required.

Experience and Skills

Education/Professional Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an a school of engineering or from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Engineering, Mathematics, Physics; or
  • Ph.D degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have a DoD Secret clearance

General Experience:

  • Minimum fifteen years if Candidate has a Bachelor’s degree; or
  • Minimum twelve years if Candidate has a Master’s degree; or
  • Minimum eight years if Candidate has a Ph.D degree.

Specialized Experience:

  • Expertise (or close) on the AEGIS Australia/Hobart Modernization Program, as a radar systems engineer; Familiarity with requirements analysis, risk identification and risk management; Familiarity with radar system integration and radar system testing. .
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts, specifications and perform system integration.
