Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible for providing System Security Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Information Assurance support to configure and/or validate secure systems and test products and systems to detect security exploits and vulnerabilities.  Perform or evaluate vulnerability scans utilizing approved scanning tools and appropriate HBSS/AV.  Develop information systems security plans and procedures resulting in accredited hardware and software solutions deployed into operational unmanned systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and update required artifacts for DIACAP/RMF accreditation
  • Conduct, identify, mitigate/remediate, and document security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Develop and document classified/unclassified systems in accordance with NISPOM and other DoD standards
  • Perform analyses to validate established security processes and recommend additional mitigation measures
  • Provide technical support for product implementation, integration, and sustainment of HBSS/AV software & applications
  • Conduct RMF security control review on proposed or discovered system changes to ensure compliance with statues, controls, directives, policies, regulations, and contract
  • Define, analyze, and review hardware and software requirements to meet defined and anticipated customer needs, quality, and cost-effective implementation
  • Maintain comprehensive records and detailed reports on system status and vulnerabilities to meet mission requirements
  • Assist with the development of IA continuity and contingency plans

 Other Job Functions

  • Develop, research, and maintain proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trend in computer and network vulnerabilities, data hiding, and encryption
  • Participate in customer technical meetings as required
  • Provide engineering support for customer test preparation and on-site test events as needed
  • Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers.

Knowledge with STIGS, IAVA Management and Implementation, SCAP, ACAS, and other scanning/remediation tools

Knowledge of the DoD C&A processes and standards as implemented in the NIST RMF

Ability to present, articulate technical data, and interact with government stakeholders and accrediting authorities

***Must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IAT Level II (DoD 8570.01) certification within 6 months of employment

***Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors in Computer Science, IT, or other related field with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, preferred OR

CompTIA Security+ and/or IAT Level II (DoD 8570.01) certification with a minimum of 5 years related working experience considered in lieu of degree

Experience with operating systems: Linux, Windows

Experience with scripting languages: Visual Basic, Perl, or Python

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office/cubicle environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones, etc)

Ability to lift  up to 10 pounds

Ability to travel, CONUS and/or OCONUS

May be required to travel between Company’s neighboring facilities by PV or walking
