Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The engineer will have the background and responsibility for the development, design, integration and test of motor drive/control systems, power control & distribution systems, and general controls and systems engineering background. Gas turbine experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Applicants with an automotive engineering background will be seriously considered for employment.
Education and Experience
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school plus 8+ years’ experience
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Motor Drives Design, Selection and Development, particularly for high power applications 1kW+
Experience with motor control system development and hardware for various electric motor types
Experience with power control & distribution; energy storage, electro-mechanical machinery – electric actuators, electric motor control;
Experience with ORCAD Capture, Pspice and Matlab/Simulink
Ability to work hands-on in a testing environment to develop control systems
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic small-company environment.
Ability to engage industry experts, apply and integrate knowledge of other related engineering areas or experts to own area of expertise.
Control engineering or systems engineering work experience
Experience developing test cases and test procedures
Experience with environmental/EMI testing for validation of systems and components
Physical Demands:
Some light physical effort required.
Will be required to perform occasional lifting of light materials.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
Personal Protective Equipment:
When required in designated lab areas.
Work Environment:
Work performed in a combination of office and lab environment.
Travel required.
Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
