The Project Accountant will be responsible for customer billings, project setup and general accounting functions as needed.


Experience and Skills

  • Perform customer invoicing to ensure invoice accuracy within contractual terms, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and DCAA requirements
  • Perform and process final and close-out invoices to adhere to DCAA standards
  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems
  • Remit invoices to customers and input invoices into customer’s web-based invoicing systems as needed
  • Ability to effectively interact with project management, customer points of contact and other members within the accounting and operations teams
  • Perform project setup functions for new contracts and modifications of projects
  • Assist accounting team in daily work and month-end close
  • Ability to enter and prepare back up support for monthly journal entries as needed
  • Contribute to the implementation/conversion of the accounting system
  • This role calls for a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Other duties within the accounting team as necessary

Preferred Skills:


  • 2+ year of billing experience working in a U.S. Government contracting environment; billing FFP, T&M, and Cost Plus contract type
  • Knowledge of indirect rate structures in a government contracting environment is desired
  • Self-starter who can multi-task and work with minimal supervision
  • Must be a team player
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in DCAA Incurred Cost Submissions is desired but not mandatory

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.
