The Federal Solutions Group is a leader in satellite command and control solutions focused on DoD, Civil (NOAA/NASA), and classified customers. We are an agile and innovative solutions provider in that we integrate Kratos-developed products with 3rd party software, as well as design and develop new tools and applications to provide end-to-end systems that solve mission unique requirements.

Kratos is seeking a Sr. Software Developer for our Federal Software Engineering team. The position includes support of dynamic, agile projects implementing a SecDevOps approach across all phases of the software development lifecycle, to include design, development, test, and operational support / user feedback. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as within a team setting on the design, implementation, and maintenance/troubleshooting of new and existing software solutions, primarily within the satellite command and control (c2) domain space. 

This candidate must be self-motivated, be a self-learner, and able to work within a dynamic schedule.  Candidate must be able to organize & report status of tasks being worked and effectively communicate with various team members.

  • C/C++ and Java programming (including network, multi-threaded, client-server programming where applicable)
  • Development on Windows and Linux platforms
  • Batch file / Shell Scripting
  • L/SQL and Oracle database utilization with applications
  • Comprehension of SecDevOps within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to design solutions to complex engineering problems

 

 

Experience and Skills

 

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or engineering equivalent; Master's degree is a plus.

-Minimum of 7 year's technical experience.

-Well versed in the usage of SecDevOps within the Software Development Lifecycle to ensure proper practices are followed and documentation generated.

-Candidate should have advanced software development experience with C, C++, and Java programming languages on Windows and Linux platforms.

-Candidate should be able to develop Windows batch files and script files as well as Unix shell scripts.

-Candidate should have a basic understanding of relational database applications and creation of expressions using Structured Query Language (SQL).

-Experience in real-time command and control systems is highly desired.

-This candidate must be self-motivated, work well independently, be a self-learner, able to work well as part of a larger team, and able to work well on a short schedule.  

-Candidate must show ability to effectively communicate with various team members, as well as communicate with vendor support.

-Candidate must be able to leverage modern industry standard technologies in the engineered solutions and quickly and efficiently generate estimates and status of design efforts, including materials (such as presentation slides), for use internally as well as with customers. 

-Active Secret clearance required.

-Position located in Colorado Springs, CO.

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.
