Kratos Space – Specialty Engineering & Delivery Group is a leader in satellite command and control solutions provider focused on DoD, Civil, National and International customers. We provide innovative solutions creating products, utilizing 3rd party products, design and develop new tools and applications to provide an integrated end-to-end system to solve the mission’s unique requirements.

The qualified candidate will primarily work with a team responsible for systems engineering, development, integration, and testing of innovative, satellite ground systems programs that combine COTS products, custom elements, and developed applications. There will be a wide range of hands-on tasks including transposition of user requirements into technical design, software installation, system administration, system configuration, creation and execution of test procedures, troubleshooting, and analysis.  The candidate may work with the end customer as well as internal team members to understand requirements to design, develop, implement and grow the system.

The qualified candidate must be motivated and have a passion for examining new and interesting concepts with an eye towards defining innovative, cost effective, and mission enhancing systems.  Experience with complex ground systems that support space system operations is encouraged, though a foundational knowledge in system engineering, integration, and system administration is a good starting point. Expertise in US Government systems and processes is certainly a plus, as is a background in software development.

  • Requirements analysis

  • System design

  • Reliability analysis

  • System hardware/software integration

  • Risk management

  • System documentation updates

  • Troubleshoot and record complex multi-system protocols during systems design and implementation, including tracing and correcting faults in hardware, firmware, and software systems.


Experience and Skills

-Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Networking, Mathematics or related field.

-Minimum 5+ years of experience in end-to-end system integration, solution design, implementation and incorporation of COTS, development of custom applications.  Experience with hardware, networking and working in quality controlled environment is desired. 

-The candidate must be self-motivated and able to support multiple groups of developers, engineers, and testers.

-The candidate must be able to articulate technical concepts both in written and oral forms, to internal and external customers.

-Experience with satellite ground systems is desired.

-The candidate must be proficient in time management, and the ability to meet the needs of multiple customers simultaneously.

-Working knowledge of current scripting tools and operation of Linux (SUSE, CentOS, Red Hat, etc.) Operating Systems.

-Experience with web technology (HTTP/S, REST, HTML, etc.) is desired.

-Experience with ESD precautions, installing components into servers, and using lab equipment including: oscilloscopes, signal generators, and logic analyzers.

-Experience with cloud (AWS) or virtualized (VMWare, RHV) environments is desired.

-Some travel may be required.

-Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.

-Position is located in Denver, CO.


U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.
