Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

 To manage and direct the CAD Operators and Designers.

 JOB SUMMARY

  • Directs the efforts of the CAD operators and designers including supervision of staff and associated personnel actions. 
  • Assigns CAD Operators and Designer resources to jobs and assists in scheduling.  Monitors job schedules and budgets. 
  • Participates in review/completion process of Cost Schedule Impact Logs (CSIL’s) and Request for Engineering Actions (REA’s) as necessary. 
  • Provides technical support to CAD Designers and Engineers. 
  • Provides CAD Designer support to the Sales department in proposal development and CAD estimates as necessary.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining departmental procedures.
  • Ensures adequate training for personnel. 
  • Performs duties as CAD Designer. 
  • Attends job kick-off meetings and participates in design reviews with customers as necessary.
  • Support CAD Services Manager in other department duties as necessary.

Education and Experience: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability required.)

Required: 

Two (2) years technical training, or equivalent experience. 

At least 4 years CAD Design experience, including supervision

  • 3D modeling experience
  • Basic machining skills
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Experience in formal presentations, meeting leadership, managing conflict, planning and developing others.

 


WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office and manufacturing environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)

Ability to lift  up to 10 pounds
