Job Description:


The Human Resources Generalist handles the administration and management of the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced human resources department.  This position is responsible for coordinating human resources functions within the division; including sub-group support and branch office support, and work closely with the Corporate division offices.


  • Provide HRIS support by entering all HR data, creating and running reports, and analysis for HR management. 
  • Assists in the delivery, execution and coordination of the annual salary planning, performance evaluations, and other relative projects.
  • Coordinate and lead new employee orientations.
  • Maintain personnel files and other Human Resources records; ensures files are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform recruiting functions for multiple business units/offices and to include posting positions, resume review, phone screens, interview set up, and candidate follow up.
  • Assist with accurately maintaining the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with the payroll group to ensure all related pay data and changes are processed timely.
  • Participates in the annual open enrollment process for health benefits and employee programs.
  • Works with the Benefits Department in preparation of employee leaves of absence.
  • Assists with corporate wide, division wide, and business unit wide training initiatives.
  • Responsible for compliance reporting (i.e. - EEO-1, Vets 4212, and Affirmative Action reporting and planning) for appropriate location(s).
  • Complete/conduct employment verifications and assist with DoD investigations.
  • Assist in employee relations issues, including the development of performance improvement plans, and conducts involuntary terminations and reductions-in-force as well as exit interviews for voluntary resignations.
  • Travel between offices supported as necessary.*

*This position requires travel between local offices. Home base will be Lanham, MD office with travel to Alexandria, VA office at least 1 or 2 days per week.

Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations.

Must possess broad human resources generalist experience, to include a working knowledge of employment laws, recruitment, benefits, and payroll.

Knowledge of MS Office programs with advanced skills in (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Previous experience with HRIS systems required.

Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.

Great interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

Ability to juggle multiple priorities.

High level of initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Positive attitude and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment. 


Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Minimum of 3 years experience in a comparable role


Office environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)

Ability to lift  up to 25 pounds
