Job Description:

Kratos RT Logic is a trusted global satellite ground systems, communications monitoring, RF interference detection and network management company. Kratos RT Logic is in the process of evolving and growing our enterprise service management product offerings to better serve our government customer base. 

We are seeking a Sr. Software Systems Architect to help us architect, design, develop, and deploy enterprise solutions to meet emerging requirements in the satellite communications enterprise.  This position will help architect software systems that manage and aid customers in visualizing a complex interconnected systems of satellite terminals, gateways, provisioning software, monitoring systems, and terrestrial networks.

The successful candidate will leverage their technical skills and leadership qualities towards the success of our satellite communication project work. The ideal candidate must have a positive can-do attitude, enjoy working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, and have applied experience in a wide range of user interface, network and software technologies that include distributed computing, database back end architectures, graphical user interfaces, networking protocols, satellite terminals and hub architectures, system administration with virtual machines, and network topologies as examples.

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Software Architect for a complex set of software centric projects and applications in the satellite communications domain space leveraging the candidates experience and skillsets.

  • Support to the Project Manager and Solutions Director for the technical success of assigned project work that includes the creation of requirements, design artifacts, test and demonstration activities as well as software baseline development.

  • Software and hardware development and integration activities in support of project execution.

  • Collaboration with both local and remote software product development teams towards the planning, development, and integration of software deliveries.

  • Support to customer technical interchange and program status meetings.

  • Support project activities including assisting in schedule development and financial execution.

  • Occasional travel to customer locations to support installation and acceptance testing as well as demonstrations.

Experience and Skills:

Experience and Skills:

  • Candidate will have Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline and 10 or more years direct work experience (CS, EE, CSE). Masters degree is encouraged.

  • Software system modeling experience for data models, interfaces, and entity relationships.

  • Proficiency in software development with high order languages that includes languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, and Python.

  • Database design and architecture experience with MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Oracle including SQL and stored procedures.

  • Knowledge and understanding of web based interface technologies such as SOAP or REST.

  • Experience working in a services/micro-services based software architecture.

  • Experience with Virtual Machine creation, configuration, orchestration, and application.

  • Experience reading and creating UML design docs, activity diagrams, and flow charts.

  • System administration experience in one or more of the following UNIX/Linux variants: Red Hat, CentOS, Debian, SUSE, Debian.

  • Working knowledge of network tools and technologies including IP, TCP/IP, ICMP, Wireshark, SNMP and Multicast.

  • Prior experience supporting satellite communications, telemetry systems, network engineering, telecommunications or similar industries with complex monitoring/management applications.

Required:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • US Government clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.
