Job Description:
Engineering/Cold Flow Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The engineering technician will have knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or applicable systems. Demonstrated ability to work on design and development of engineering tests in a team environment.

Cold Flow Technician Responsibilities:

  • Design, fabricate and assemble test fixtures. Conduct flow test with engineering guidance according to requested test conditions.
  • Record data, record calibration information and tools used.
  • Collect all documentation including photos and test instructions.
  • Disassemble, visually inspect test article to ensure no changes, package and prepare for shipment.

Physical Demands: Some light physical effort required. Will be required to perform occasional lifting of light materials. Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend and move about the facility. Personal Protective Equipment: When required in designated lab areas.

Work Environment: Work performed in a combination of office and lab environment. Some Travel may be required. Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Experience and Skills:

Education and Experience: At least 2 years progressive experience in engineering test environment or equivalent.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: General Technician Responsibilities:

  • Ability to set direction and carry out laboratory tests, hardware inspection, testing, and developmental assembly.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance for the facility and major equipment.
  • Assist in facility audits of maintenance and equipment condition.
  • Update the interface control document for the Test and Assembly facilities as needed. Plan tool and equipment requirements for assembly and test operations as well as maintain tool inventory.
