Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The Senior Combustion Engineer will conduct combustion CFD simulations, analyses and experiments that support the design and development of industrial and aero gas turbine engine combustors. The engineer will also develop computational simulation best practices for application of CFD to gas fueled and liquid fueled combustion systems. The engineer takes ownership of his/her results as it directly supports the combustion team deliverables and decisions. The engineer will contribute to a variety of engine development platforms through formulation and execution of complex combustion engineering analyses producing innovative combustion designs.

 

 

Experience and Skills:

Education and Experience:

The Senior Combustion Engineer shall have a BS/MS/PhD in an applicable Engineering field plus a minimum of 6 years progressively more complex experience in design and development of combustion systems. Shall have analytical, computational and experimental experience with combustors. He/She should be proficient in performing CFD and classical analyses to enhance combustion system designs. Should have proficiency in the understanding of combustion chamber chemistry and resulting physics. Able to assist in validation of new combustion system designs. Proficiency in ANSYS CFD tools for combustion applications required. Candidates from either industry and/or academia would be considered. He/She should be proficient in performing analyses and correlations to enhance combustion design tools and methods.
