Job Description:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Performs staff support activities to develop, implement and administer compensation policies and programs.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Audits jobs for content and prepares job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, and requirements.
  • Develops and/or participates in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine companys competitive position.
  • Reviews proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies and practices.
  • Recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems.
  • Reviews requests for new or revised classifications to determine appropriate salary grade assignment.
  • Formulates recommendations regarding development of company salary structure, FLSA exemptions, job revisions and organizational structures.
  • Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and recommends appropriate courses of actions.
  • Participates in the development, implementation and administration of the annual performance review, merit and bonus programs.
  • Develops training sessions, presentations, informational materials/handouts to facilitate education throughout the enterprise on numerous compensation topics and programs.

 Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • May prepare special studies and recommendations on subjects such as incentive compensation, bonus plans, sales compensation or stock options.
  • May include administration of international programs.

Experience and Skills:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required:

  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and public
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge in HRIS
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Possesses knowledge of federal and state regulations concerning employee compensation
  • Strong analytical skills including attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred:

  • Knowledge in ADP Vantage HRIS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience   
  • Experience with online benefit systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Office environment
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 1 phones)
