Job Description:

Kratos Space & Missile Defense Systems, Inc. is a leading supplier of engineering, technical and manufacturing services related to suborbital launch vehicles for a range of applications including ballistic missile defense system testing and advanced research and development.

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the program team in execution and delivery of acceptable products and services to the customer.  This will include supporting a rigorous quality engineering program for advanced launch vehicles that will fly all over the world.  The quality engineering program and execution must comply with Kratos, customer, and industry requirements as prescribed in the Kratos Quality Management System (QMS) and program documentation.

The Quality Engineer must have relevant experience performing quality engineering for product design and manufacturing, as well as technical services. Candidates whom possess strong experience in design and manufacturing of high-quality aerospace and defense products are acceptable.  The Quality Engineer should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate quality concepts and performance requirements to co-workers, customers, and vendors on a regular basis.

Experience and Skills:


  • Develop, execute, manage, and monitor program quality engineering and inspection program
  • Communicate effectively with the Kratos team, customers, and suppliers on quality related activities
  • Assists program team in ensuring an acceptable product (hardware and software) and service is provided every time
  • Facilitates root cause and corrective action determinations, corrective action implementation, and required follow-up at Kratos and at suppliers
  • Performs program related surveys, inspections, or audits at Kratos and suppliers
  • Develops and establishes appropriate program specific training
  • Interacts with personnel to ensure proper interpretation and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Up to 25% travel is anticipated


The Quality Engineer must show completion of a full four year course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors (BA/BS) or higher degree in business, operations management, engineering, or science, and 2 years of relevant experience. An advanced degree (Masters, Ph.D.) may substitute for 1 year of relevant experience.
