GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Assist Manufacturing Management by placing purchase requests, monitoring manufacturing order status, monitoring purchase order status, and performing other material and production control functions as required. Perform various clerical functions such as updating files, insuring documentation is properly completed, and maintaining department schedules
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ability to assist in reviewing blueprints and product specifications to accurately determine amount of materials needed.
Ability to document overall material need, identify and collect information necessary to process purchase requisitions, and completes required purchase requisitions using MRP system and input from management.
Ability to perform various production control activities including gathering and filing records, reporting on use of materials, monitoring customer orders, maintaining production schedules.
Relieve Management of clerical work and minor administrative and business detail.
Assist in the issuance of manufacturing orders and tracks them through to completion.
Ability to monitor production schedule for critical path shortages and assists in implementing mitigation plan as required.
Ability to maintain material requirements database for multiple programs.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase requests, purchase orders, blueprints, work orders, data sheets, and procedure manuals
Microsoft Office skills a must, along with strong computer skills
Excellent verbal, written, listening and telephone communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and office filing habits
Previous production control experience a plus.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with various personality types
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Degree or equivalent
2+ years combination of education and experience in manufacturing field
Previous experience with an MRP system (Cost Point experience a plus)
Experience in production control and/or material planning a plus
