Job Description:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Prepare Purchase Orders under a government approved purchasing system.  Administer Subcontracts and be back-up for other Contracting functions.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PRIMARY –

  • Prepare and issue all Purchase Orders based on authorized purchase requisitions. Perform Cost/Price analysis to determine cost reasonableness and best value as required
  • Maintain Purchase Order files with all required documentation
  • Follow all guidelines and processes detailed in the Kratos Purchasing Manual.  Diligently adhere to all policies and procedures established to maintain an approved Contractor Purchasing System in accordance with FAR 44.3
  • Prepare Request for Quotes for Purchase Orders as needed.  Research vendors for best value as well as price
  • Manage assigned contracts/subcontracts and ensure compliance with government contracting practices, state and federal laws, and regulations including FARs, DFARs, UCC
  • Assist as needed in preparation of proposals
  • Develop, negotiate, administer and close out subcontract agreements
  • Maintain current and accurate file documentation
  • CostPoint data entry

  

Non Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain and update work instructions for the procurement area as necessary.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The work environment characteristics are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation.  Able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer via standard input devices such as using a keyboard and reading information on a monitor.  Standard work week

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) 
  • Experience with CostPoint

 

Preferred: 

  • Experience with government Approved Purchasing Systems 
  • Experience with Subcontract Administration  

 

Education and Experience Required

BA/BS Degree in related field or at least three (3) years of related work experience in purchasing
