Job Description:



Kratos Defense and Rocket Support Services (KDRSS) is seeking outstanding candidates to join our industry leading team of experts in DODs highest technical priority - hypersonics research, development, test and evaluation.  KDRSS is developing the next generation Transient, Thermal Analysis Software tools for the Modeling and Simulation (M&S) of hypersonic and high speed vehicles. We are looking for motivated engineers to help us support software development and application of serial and distributed parallel, scientific computing models applied to the solution of demanding, high-speed aerothermodynamics problems. Other duties include supporting our Department of Defense and Unmanned Combat Aerial System efforts such as  through high-resolution Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling using accepted non-proprietary models on High Performance Computing (HPC) platforms.



  • Help expand the capability of our transient thermal analysis software and Computational Fluid Dynamics models.
  • Apply software engineering best practices to existing applications and new developments including test-driven development activities.
  • Assist in the design and development of engineering software under general supervision
  • Utilize experience with C/C++, FORTRAN 90, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Develop written reports, briefings and other documentation.
Experience and Skills:


  • Experience in C++, Python, and shell scripting languages
  • Experience with the use, modification and/or development of scientific computing applications on Linux platforms
  • Distributed Parallel Computing Software Development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills



  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • Five (5) years experience
  • Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance



  • Office environment
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
