GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Provides administrative support to the human resources function.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Handles day-to-day HR administration
  • Performs recruiting functions and assists in resume review, phone screens, interview set up and candidate follow up
  • Provides information, resources and assistance to employees and managers on all HR related matters, organization policies, and procedures
  • Processes human resources activities in HRIS 

Non-Essential Job Duties (formerly Other Job Functions)

Conducts candidate interviews, new hire orientation and exit interviews

Other duties may be assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required:

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors

Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary

Ability to adhere to workplace rules

Ability to protect and maintain confidentiality of Human Resources and Company data

Demonstrates understanding of basic HR operations

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Experience and Skills:

 

Required:

AA/AS Degree

Minimum 1 year experience, or education in lieu of experience

Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations

Preferred:

BA/BS Degree

Prior experience with HRIS

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)

Ability to lift  up to 10 pounds
