Job Description:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

To lead the planning and execution of the work efforts for assigned departments to maintain the quality and integrity of products at the lowest possible cost.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Directs the efforts of assigned departments, including supervision of staff and associated personnel actions. 
  • Ensures department work areas are safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant through training, implementation of EHS policies, and continuous improvement. 
  • Creates and maintains training matrices of personnel and associated documentation.
  • Interfaces with supporting departments such as Engineering and Quality Assurance. 
  • Ensures adequate resources are in place for employees to perform daily operations, including materials, tools, and training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  

Provides direction to designated work teams with responsibility for maintaining production schedules, quality of work, and planning and assigning duties

Experience and Skills:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:   

 Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors

Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary

Ability to adhere to workplace rules

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

4 year college/university degree (technical field preferred), or equivalent experience.

3 years related experience in manufacturing, including supervision.

 

This position will be responsible for the Machine Shop, Fabrication, Weld and Paint Depts. on Third Shift.  Experience in Supervising a Machine/Fabrication Shop and Paint Dept. is preferred.
