Job Description:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

 Designs, plans, and implements human resources programs and policies including staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations and training.  Works directly with all levels of the organization to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for managing human resource activities on a site level. 
  • Oversees employee relations, training, compensation, government regulations and reporting, staffing and record keeping. 
  • Directs the efforts of the Human Resources Department, including supervision of staff.  
  • Administers existing benefit plans for all employees and assists in the development of modified or new plans. 
  • Coordinates recruitment and supports other departmental managers in personnel actions such as recruitment, hiring, termination, and promotion. 
  • Implements and maintains company training plan
  • Consults with legal counsel and Human Resources associations in order to update company policies and employee handbook to align with current HR legislation. 
  • Supports Community Service project activity.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  

 This position has supervisory responsibilities

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors

Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

BS/BA degree (required)

Masters degree (preferred)

Membership in at least one professional association – e.g. SHRM, ASTD, ACA, etc (preferred)

Must have 7 years related experience, including supervision in human resources

Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations

 

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)

Ability to lift  up to 10 pounds
