Job Description:

 

The Marketing Specialist will work as part of the Business Development Team in the research, pursuit and acquisition of new business opportunities both domestically and abroad. As a member of the team, the Marketing Specialist will work with Account Executives and the Sr. VP of Business Development in preparation and maintenance of sales support data including but not limited to technical presentations and product literature.  Market research activities associated with target countries and customers will be a routine requirement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports Account Executives and Proposal Managers in the development of proposals with generation of requirements traceability documents and assists the Proposal Managers as directed in the generation of timely and compliant proposals.
  • Accomplishes market research on country and customer contacts and competitive systems employed by the customer community.
  • Maintains regular contact with Representatives and provides support information to Representatives consistent with State Department limitations on Kratos products and services.
  • Participates in reviews and re-write processes for proposal efforts.
  • Organizes and manages sales events such as trade shows.
  • Supports customer meetings with presentations and presentation materials, as directed by Account Executives and the Sr. VP of Business Development.
  • Ensures technical information residing on website remains current on Kratos products, obtaining proper approvals in advance of any changes.
  • Assists in maintenance of written customer / potential customer profiles and histories.
  • Represents the company at technical conferences and other marketing events that promote the expertise and capabilities of the company.
  • Fosters ethical conduct, practices, and personal integrity throughout Kratos to ensure Kratos ability to attract and retain customers in a highly competitive environment.
  • Responsible for adherence to budgets associated with trade show events

Experience and Skills:

 

 

  • B.S degree in Business is preferred with coursework in business and communications preferred.
  • 0-5 years experience in similar activities.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). 
  • May be required to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

 

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent computer skills especially in the areas of PowerPoint presentations and manipulation of graphics.
  • Foreign language skills are desirable.  Specifically French, Spanish or Arabic.  Any would be considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with DoD, commercial and international acquisition practices.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Office and manufacturing environments
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to spend considerable time at facilities in Roseville and Sacramento.
  • Some international travel will be required. 
  • May work extended hours or weekends.
