Job Description:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as a technician performing technical and machine shop duties related to work being performed by the engineering staff for completion of U.S. Government assigned task orders. Technician team support is accomplished at a level that can typically be attained by a High School graduate with technical experience in both an office and/or machine shop. Experience in machine shop equipment related disciplines with minimum 10 years experience directly related to requirements is desired.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications and engineering drawings
  • Weld metal parts and assemblies in accordance with good welding practice and standards
  • Perform tasks with machine shop equipment utilizing safe practices and good standard operating procedures
  • Perform facilities management ensuring maintenance issues are addressed and facility is maintained in operational order.
  • Perform inventory management, cataloging, warehouse management, material coordination, data entry, and property control in support of various supply activities and/or equipment installations.
  • Generate, obtain quotes for purchase, and submit purchase requests in support of needed procurements.  Assist assigned personnel with equipment removal/installations.
  • Create, complete and verify receiving/shipping, transfer of equipment documentation, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages.
  • Provide logistical support to team leads.
  • Perform miscellaneous quality assurance duties including inspections, inventory process checks, inspecting and examining materials, article inspections, etc.
  • Responsible for inventory management of controlled items, including supplies, and equipment.
  • Individual may be required to possess specialized certifications.

 

 

Other Job Functions

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Provide on call support.
  • Work with members of the engineering team as required.

  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driving permit if required
