Job Description:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:  Analyze and interpret and compile a variety of engineering and technical data to produce fully function and complete technical data packages and drawings to be deployed in a repair/production environment. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PRIMARY –

  • Candidate will successfully document and write procedures and processes related repair and maintenance of avionic equipment and production equipment.
  • Will work as part of a multi-functional team with engineers and shop technicians to identify and document production processes, maintenance processes, and products and material.
  • Candidate will interpret vague, unclear or incomplete technical data related to avionics commodities and clearly document associated physical characteristics, processes and procedures in accordance with Air Force Maintenance Procedures and Technical Documentation standards.

SECONDARY –

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment and comply with all applicable security and safety regulations and OSHA standards

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics are representative of those performing essential functions of the job in an industrial production and repair environment and general office setting. Able to work sitting or standing or operating government owned vehicles. Standard work week generally applies however, candidate will be expected to work as the requirement dictates and this could include hours on a non-standard shift such as swing or owl (2:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m. in 8 hour or longer increments). There is a possibility of electrical shock and/or burns from electrical energy or hot solder and minor cuts/bruises when working in/near production lines and machinery.

Experience and Skills:

JOB SKILLS:

Required –

  • Proficient in general computer technology related to an office environment to include MS Word, Adobe Framemaker, ArborText, Adobe Photoshop and ABBY Finereader.

Preferred –

  • Experience utilizing Illustrator, MS Excel and SGML formatting preferred but not required 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Bachelors Degree OR four (4) years work experience as an avionics technician, maintenance technician, or technical writer.
