Job Description:

As an Operations Associate with Haverstick Consulting you will be joining a team to work with the Department of Indiana Office of Technology to support the Family & Social Service Administration Modernization Program IT hardware infrastructure.

Providing operational administration to ensure the smooth day-to-day management of the 24/7 data service center facilities as well as expanded Windows, UNIX and Linux server hosting. Participate in supported operations service desk, configuration and change management for supporting the advancement of Indiana Eligibility Modernization project computing services.


  • Performs and supports service desk related operations as needed.
  • Analyzes monitoring alerts, logs, tracks and resolve or contact appropriate tier support level to resolve complex software/hardware matters pertaining to network connectivity issues, servers, and applications to meet the business needs.
  • Coordinates Data center hardware installation and upgrades to ensure work is property performed in accordance with company policy and procedures. Recommends resolutions to matters of significance.
  • Administer, support and maintain routine processes of an Active Directory 2003/2008 and Exchange 2003 environment (accounts, OU, mailboxes…etc)
  • Performs Microsoft Windows servers patch process on a scheduled basis.
  • Provide overall operational monitoring and Service level reporting using software Tools (NETIQ, Solar Wins, Nagios)
  • Provide overall monitoring and Administration of Data Center and Remote Office environmental hardware
  • Perform and Monitor system backups/restores using IBM Tivoli Storage Manager processes and procedures
  • Perform and Monitor daily operation scheduled activities
  • Providing daily support as needed to assist Engineering teams with server operations and activities (i.e. Data Center physical hardware installations, remote site hardware installations, delivering monitoring metrics reporting, troubleshot configuration issues.
  • Maintain hardware asset inventory. Work with engineering teams to ensure asset tracking process and procedures are maintained
  • Document and improve upon operation process, procedures and best practices to align with industry standards and business needs.
Experience and Skills:
  • Associates Degree in related business or technology area or 5+ Years experience with Microsoft Windows 2003 operations in a production environment supporting business critical systems
  • Two Years Help Desk experience
  • Two Years experience small to medium scale Data Center Operation supporting business critical systems
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft WSUS patch Management
  • Working Knowledge of Tivoli Storage Manager
  • Working Knowledge of Active Directory management and concepts
  • Working Knowledge NETIQ Monitoring Software


  • Working towards MCSE Microsoft Certification
  • ITIL V2 or V3 Foundation
