Job Description

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services is currently seeking a  Senior Radar Engineer/Scientist.    The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience and ability to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration.  Must have a minimum of seven years of program/project level engineering experience in major radar systems; and solid technical background as demonstrated by certifiable experience formulating opinions, decisions and ultimate performance of the tasks specified in a contract statement of work.

The successful candidate will conduct analysis on all collected test data from labs,  land based test sites (LBTS), Self-Defense Test Ship (SDTS), DDG 100 and CVN 78 supporting verification of system functionality and performance.  Analyze collected data to support the verification of system functionality including verification of technical performance measures, Electronic Attack/ Electronic Protection and clutter performance.  

Experience and Skills

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Develops analysis using MATLAB codes to extract live radar test data to assess performance.
  • May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist.dc
  • Demonstrated abilities to interface with the Navy/Marines/Joint to develop and support technical positions, to justify technical recommendations, and to write technical publications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree from an a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering; or
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study:
  • Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics; or a Masters degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics; or a Ph.D degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.

General Experience:

  • Minimum fifteen years if Candidate has a Bachelors degree; or
  • Minimum twelve years if Candidate has a Masters degree; or
  • Minimum eight years if Candidate has a Ph.D degree.

Eligible candidates must have:

  • U.S. citizenship.
  • DoD Top Secret clearance with SSBI completed within the past 5 years.
  • Experience with MATLAB and understanding structure Models for scripting to run MATLAB.
