Job Description:

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services is currently seeking a Journeyman Software Engineer to develop software elements for weapon and sensor systems; Document software design; Perform Sensor System development, integration, testing and evaluation;  Generate and debug assigned software code elements. Produce technical reports on findings, provide system data collection and analysis, and conduct technical documentation reviews.

 

Experience and Skills:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Experience on U.S. DoD sensor or weapon systems. Hardware Technology: X86 ,PPC, Del, Sun, Oracle servers, VME and IBM Power PCs.  Computer Language: C, C++, ADA, FORTRAN, Java, SQL, XML,C#, Assembly Language, MATLAB; Operating Systems: Windows, Windows Server, Linux distributions, UNIX, MACOS Ver 9.1, or Sun Software;

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics, and 4 years of software development experience; or
  • A Masters degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics, and 2 years of software development experience; or
  • A Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing software design, code, and testing.

Eligible candidates must have:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Security Clearance –Secret
  • Eligible for  IT Level II designation under DoD Directive 8570.01M or its successor
