Job Description:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Kratos delivers integrated end-to-end enterprise solutions across the ground station to communication service providers. Our market-leading products help assure the availability, reliability and quality of communications.

The Program Manager is a manager within the company who has a minimum of seven (7) years experience, including five (5) years of demonstrated management experience or project level management in major systems. The program manager must have good understanding of the project management process, have strong communication and customer service skills and be able to motivate their team(s). The Program Manager should be good with budget and funding calculations and must possess analytical skills.  The Program Manager is involved in all stages of a project or program ensuring success in the planning, scheduling, implementation and tracking progress for assigned tasks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Lead highly technical engineering teams on challenging projects and manage project technical baselines (software, hardware, and firmware).
• Manage the technical, schedule, quality, and cost objectives for customer program in our broadcast service management market.
• Provide technical expertise in advising customers on architectures and potential solutions.
• Manage capture of new business for existing and new customer accounts – including generating quotes and leading proposal efforts.
• Pursue business development opportunities that employ products or broader Kratos end-to-end solutions.
• Interface directly with customers to ensure job requirements are met.
• Direct project personnel resources to accomplish job milestones.
• Effectively manage project sub-contractors and vendors.
• Develop and deliver effective customer presentations (design reviews, status reports, kickoff meetings, test plans) demonstrating an ability to communicate comfortably at a system level.
• Participate in project status reviews to monitor and/or provide inputs to cost completion, projected fee, invoices, and purchase commitments.
• Travel 15%-20%.

• Ability to understand, track, drill-down, and question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based upon that data.
• Strong influence-management, negotiation, leadership and assertiveness skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent required; MBA preferred
• 7+ years experience in a high-technology company desired
• 7+ years program management experience required
• Experience as a second-level manager a plus
• 7+ years experience in more than one of the following disciplines a plus:
  o Development Engineering
  o Product Marketing
  o Finance
  o Operations
