Job Description:

To assemble parts at work stations for the fabrication and modification of shelters and trailers to achieve quality and integrity of products at the lowest possible cost.

Works from verbal and written instructions, which may include assembly or sub-assembly prints

  • Receives parts, sub-assemblies, and partially completed units
  • Measures, cuts, fits, adjusts, drills, rivets, and bolts, as applicable
  • Uses appropriate tools and fixtures to assist with the installation or complete the installation of parts, sub-assemblies, and modifications
  • Grinds excess materials as required
  • May mask parts in preparation for painting
  • Uses various tools which may include various rivet guns, drills, sanders, grinders, routers, and other tooling and equipment as needed
  • Responsible for meeting appropriate quality standards
  • May perform tests to ensure compliance
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area
  • Skilled in tool drilling operations
  • Ability to train and learn from co-workers in job skill transfer

 

Experience and Skills:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Required: 0-4 years related experience
Supervisory experience a plus
Works closely with supervisor and inspection to maintain quality and reduce lost time and repairs
Exercises judgment to devise ways to simplify and improve methods and procedures wherever possible
Ability to read, write and understand written directions
Ability to accurately read tape measure; convert between fractions and decimals.\ Knowledge of all applicable manufacturing and quality documentation required to perform the job tasks.
Read and interpret complicated blueprints; read routings
Ability to accurately read tape measure; convert between fractions and decimals
