GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
SAP Basis Administration for the Network Enterprise Center – Redstone Arsenal under the Army Logistics Transformation (ALTII) contract in support of the Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-Army) program. Primary responsibilities will be to provide administration and support of a large and technically complex landscape of GCSS-Army Production/QA/Dev systems running SAP on Oracle databases. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to design, administration, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, integration, backup/recovery, optimization, and problem resolution in the SAP landscape. This position is key to the ongoing success of the GCSS-Army program and will require an individual with strong motivation and desire to execute at a high level. Candidate will need to have a strong understanding of underlying UNIX systems and Oracle databases and how SAP integrates and functions with them.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Installations, configurations, upgrades, and migrations of SAP instances (ECC, BI, BW, PI, Portal, etc).
Day to day operational activities related to the administration of SAP environments (transports, batch jobs, monitoring, troubleshooting, tuning, etc)
Application of support packages and installation of SAP related add-on software components.
Backup and Recovery Operations related to SAP and Oracle
RFC creation and configuration of TMS
Analysis of ABAP dumps
Strong SAP Basis Administration skillset (install, upgrade, migrate, troubleshoot, etc)
Strong understanding of underlying UNIX OS (preference to AIX)
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Experience with Netweaver on both ABAP and Java stacks
Ability to work independently on complex technical tasks.
Experience working in a DoD related environment
Oracle database knowledge and/or database administration experience.
UNIX shell scripting
Experience with backup/recovery of SAP/Oracle databases
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
8+ years directly applicable experience administering SAP
CompTIA Security+ certification required prior to start
BA/BS in a Computer Science, Engineering, or related scientific/technical discipline preferred
Computing Environment certification preferred
