Job Description:

Manages daily production activities within assigned areas.  Ensures that work orders/customer orders are produced on schedule in a safe manner, and that that all products are manufactured according to quality specifications. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains appropriate workforce to meet production levels.
  • Moves employees to different jobs when needed.
  • Approves, updates and maintains vacations schedules.
  • Coaches/disciplines employees as needed.
  • Interviews potential employees for open positions.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources on all personnel issues related to their areas.
  • Communicates material requirements to maintain production levels.
  • Ensures a safe work environment by following set procedures.
  • Ensures environmental compliance including the proper handling, disposal and storage of hazardous materials 
  • Organizes all the work to meet production deadlines.
  • Ensures all team members carry out all quality practices 100% of the time.
  • Responsible for the accurate recording of all employees time.
  • Responsible for the adequate upkeep of equipment in coordination with the maintenance staff.
  • Ensures that all associates are trained on work instructions per their job assignment.
  • Ensures consistent application of Quality system procedures.
  • This position has supervisory responsibility over assigned production staff.
  • Creates and maintain matrices of personnel and associated documentation.
  • Interfaces with supporting departments such as Engineering and Quality.

 

 

 

Experience and Skills:

 

Required: year college/university degree (technical field preferred), or equivalent experience.

3 years related experience in manufacturing, including supervision.
