Job Description:

The Federal Solutions Group is a leader in satellite command and control solutions provider focused on DoD, Civil (NOAA/NASA), and National customers. 

This is a hybrid position with a focus on both System and Security Engineering.  The qualified candidate will work with a small team responsible for system engineering of the multiple programs in DoD, IC and Civil to include the highly successful Command and Control Consolidated System, now enhanced with virtualization and other various IA/Cybersecurity features.  Potential to work on other ground system programs as well.  Experience a wide range of hands-on engineering responsibilities including requirements analysis, system design, reliability analysis, system hardware/software integration, and risk management.  

The qualified candidate should have:

-The ability to work with security engineers to support and implement cybersecurity policies and ensure security compliance objectives are met. 

-Recent hands on Assessment & Authorization (A&A) experience creating DIACAP and/or RMF accreditation packages.

-Strong working knowledge of IA concepts such as patch management, two-factor authentication, host-based security, intrusion detection, security event management and defense-in-depth.

-Experience in security architecture design, Security Audit tools, security requirements generation, security testing, administration of security devices such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.  

-A strong understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS), HBSS, ACAS, Software Assurance techniques & tools. Additionally, experience with security products such as vulnerability scanning and network assessment tools. 

-Technical document preparation skills and verbal communications for presentation of technical information assurance issues and reports to government and military officials.  

-Experience installing, and testing patches on Windows and Linux platforms. 

-Ability to detect IA vulnerabilities through Nessus scanning and POA&M reporting. 

-Ability to work closely with multiple disciplines including developers, test, security, and on-site user support personnel to support system updates, analyze and resolve system issues, and ensure project objectives are met in a rapid response environment.

Experience and Skills:

 

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field.

-Certified Information systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or Information Systems security Engineering Professional certifications desired.

-Minimum of 8 years experience in systems and security engineering.

-Experience with satellite or ground systems, especially CCS-C, associated satellite programs, network design and software engineering backgrounds is desired.

-Knowledge of VMWare systems administration and installing and configuring VMWare desired.

-Candidate must be self-motivated and capable of leading projects consisting of multiple groups of developers, engineers, security, and testers.  

-Candidate must be able to articulate technical concepts orally and in written forms both internally to the team as well as externally to the customer and users. 

-Active Secret clearance required.

-Position located in Colorado Springs, CO.

 

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.
